Dr. Richard Peterson is CEO of MarketPsych Data, a firm producing media sentiment data in partnership with Refinitiv. Called "Wall Street's Top Psychiatrist" (Associated Press), Dr. Peterson's financial psychology research has been published in leading academic journals, textbooks, and profiled in the financial media including NPR, CNBC, the Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, and the BBC. His book, "Inside the Investor's Brain" (Wiley, 2007), was praised as "outstanding" and a "seminal text" by Barrons. With Frank Murtha PhD he co-authored "MarketPsych" (Wiley, 2010). Both books were named top financial books of their respective years by Kiplinger's. His new book "Trading on Sentiment" was published in March 2016 is available in Chinese and Japanese. Dr. Peterson earned cum laude degrees in electrical engineering, arts, and medicine (MD) from the University of Texas, performed post-graduate neuroeconomics research at Stanford University, and is Board-certified in psychiatry.
Matthew is the Senior Product Manager for Energy & Commodities at Parameta Solutions, the financial data arm of TP ICAP which includes broking brands “Tullett Prebon / ICAP & PVM”.
Matthew carries 15 years’ experience in this area covering Oil / Coal / Gas / Power / Environmental Markets / Digital Assets / Fixed Income & Precious Metals.
TP ICAP Group acts as an intermediary between sophisticated market participants who are seeking to buy and sell financial products in markets where there are no centralised exchanges or market makers, such as over-the-counter or bond markets.
Richard is the Global Head of Market Development for Refinitiv’s Quantitative Business, which includes investment analytics, real-time and historical data feeds for structured and unstructured data, and platforms. Prior to this, he ran Thomson Reuters’ Global Quantitative Consulting and Support division.
Richard’s domain expertise in systematic and discretionary investment management was attained over a 30-year career as a Portfolio Manager and COO overseeing multibillion-dollar funds at Citibank, Tykhe Capital, and Guardian Life.
