Mark has grown Weather Source from a small start-up to a leading provider of weather and climate technology. In its early years, Weather Source primarily provided weather information and consulting. During this time, Mark developed a vision for a scalable weather operating system that could serve clients across any industry and provide each with information relevant to their specific needs and locations of interest. Today, Weather Source’s OnPoint Platform and related products provide actionable weather insights to a growing list of top-ranked companies.

Prior to founding Weather Source, Mark applied his expertise in meteorology and computer science at Applied Insurance Research (AIR) and TASC. Among his notable accomplishments is the development of long-range forecasting systems that laid the foundation for the use of such technology at WSI and The Weather Company. Mark has also enjoyed working on projects for the United Nations’ World Meteorological Organization, where he advanced the meteorological capabilities of several Latin American countries. Mark holds a bachelor’s degree in meteorology with minors in computer science and mathematics.

Dr. Jan Dutton is the CEO of Prescient Weather Ltd.  Dr. Dutton strives to enable high-value business decision-making based on transforming weather and climate information into his customer's business context. His career spans positions at Weather Ventures, Earth Networks, Storm Exchange, Schneider Electric, and DTN.

Dr. Dutton recently completed a six-year term as a member of the Penn State Department of Meteorology and Atmospheric Science Advisory Board.  He is currently a volunteer mentor for the American Meteorological Society Board on Private Sector Meteorology and a member of the Committee on Climate Services.  

He received a dual degree B.A. in Physics and Science and Technology Studies from Colby College in Waterville, ME.  He received a Ph.D. from the Penn State Department of Meteorology and an MBA from the Smeal College Business at Penn State.  Dr. Dutton is honored to strengthen existing and build new customer and partner relationships based on the unique leading-edge climate analysis and forecasting capabilities created by Prescient Weather Ltd.

Alex is Senior Vice President of Sales at BattleFin. She has worked at BattleFin since 2019 managing the Content and One-on-One meetings at the live events and data sourcing. She is also the liaison between Jefferies Equity Sales & Data Strategy group connecting their hedge fund and asset managers with our alternative data providers. Prior to BattleFin, Alex was a Private Wealth manager at Merrill Lynch and Smith Barney and also worked at hedge funds, Kleos Capital Management and Pequot Capital. After graduating from Brown University in 1999, her first job was at Multex, where she was Account Manager, National Institutional Sales, responsible for all key accounts.
