Sayad Baronyan

Sayad Baronyan

Director of Quantitative Research, EPFR Informa

Sayad Baronyan was appointed Director of Quantitative Research at EPFR, Informa Financial Intelligence in 2020. He oversees the Quantitative Research team tracking and analysing fund flows and positioning data from EPFR’s database made up of 137,000 share classes, representing $51.5 trillion of assets under management. Sayad identifies new systematic investment strategies utilising EPFR-tracked flow and positioning data. He provides consultative services to hedge funds and investment firms, leveraging his background in portfolio management to offer granular insight to clients.

Prior to joining Informa, Sayad ran the multi-asset funds desk at HSBC Global Asset Management in Istanbul, where he won the best performing fund manager award from Forbes Magazine in 2017. He generates research reports for journal papers and other publications, and participates in Quant and alternative data events, most recently The Thalesians and DataScrum, Eagle Alpha and Neudata. Sayad received a MSc, Computational Science from Istanbul Technical University and has a Ph.D in Finance from Özyeğin University, Istanbul.

Clive Gosling

Head of Consulting, Experian Marketing Services

Clive has a wealth of experience in senior project and marketing roles spanning some 37 years. Initially working in the retail sector Clive was programme manager for the Boots Advantage card trials and subsequent national launch. The resulting expertise in CRM led him to be Head of Sales, Product and Marketing for Barclays and Woolwich personal lending, followed by spells as Group Marketing Director for Cattles PLC, Marketing Director for a pre paid card company before setting up his own consulting business.

With 14 years consulting experience in the service sector and having worked with numerous clients both large and small, Clive is able to bring both the real world practicalities of day to day business and the in depth customer intelligence Experian can provide in to a seamless business solution that is both achievable and profitable.  Having been there and done it, Clive brings a sound commercial focus to any engagement with ability to find new channels and intelligence led opportunities.

Primarily focusing on the ever changing Financial services market within the Experian consulting team, engagements have spanned everything from gaming halls and football clubs to insurance businesses and far eastern theatres. As such a broad range of experience, business acumen and marketing experience can be bought to bear on any client issues.

Tim Harrington

Tim is a co-founder and CEO of BattleFin Group Inc. BattleFin is an ecosystem focused on bringing alternative data to the world through BattleFin’s Ensemble© Technology Platform. He has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Tim was the President and a Partner at Lion’s Path Capital, a hedge fund strategy incubator where he allocated capital to 30 fundamental and systematic portfolio managers since the launch in 2009. From January 2006 until 2009, Mr. Harrington was a Portfolio Manager at J.P. Morgan Ventures where he was in charge of Global Technology, Media & Telecom Investments. From February 2002 until January 2006 he was a Telecom & Media Portfolio Manager at Sigma Capital, a subsidiary of SAC Capital. Mr. Harrington graduated from Columbia College in 1998. He was a member of the Columbia University Judiciary Board as well as a member of the varsity crew team.
